King & Queen Chess Club Students Represent Australia at FIDE 2025 World Cadet & World Youth Chess Championships

Five of our promising young chess talents from King & Queen Chess Club proudly represented Australia on the global stage!

Matthew J, Nicholas C, Brian Y, Eleanor W and Charlotte O travelled to Almaty, Kazakhstan, to take part in the FIDE 2025 World Cadet Chess Championships. Elaina Q also joined the Australian team to compete at the 2025 World Youth Chess Championship.

Competing on the World Stage

This prestigious international event brought together top junior chess players from all corners of the world. Our young players stepped up to face tough competition, testing their skills against peers from dozens of countries.

Beyond the chessboard, it was a priceless experience: meeting fellow chess lovers, learning different playing styles, and building confidence through high-stakes international tournament play.

It is a remarkable achievement for these juniors to earn selection as Australian representatives. Everyone at Queensland Chess School and King & Queen Chess Club is incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the championship.
